AT LAST! Taylor Hicks returns to Atlantic City! Not since he headlined The Borgata and the House of Blues in his 2007 solo tour has the city by the sea with the country’s best boardwalk seen the soulful blues musician on a stage. Performing at Bally’s Casino, Hicks takes a brief hiatus from his headlining star turn at Bally’s Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas, where he has been in residency for a year.
Hicks will be in town on successive weekends starting July 18-20 and concluding July 25-27. The schedule is a treat for those who haven’t seen Taylor since his AI or solo tour days. He’ll perform at 10 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays inside Bally’s at the Blue Martini, a venue tucked into a large corner of the casino floor with a variety of seating and an elevated stage. (More on the Blue Martini in Part 2.)
Mr. Hicks will also perform at Bally’s Bikini Beach Bar on Fridays and Saturdays during his two weekend stay. The show kicks off at 1 pm at the completely new and beautiful beach bar. In total, Taylor will perform ten shows over two successive weekends before returning to his residency at the Napoleon Room, Paris Las Vegas.
Stay tuned for Part 2 this weekend where the Blue Martini will be featured on Photo Focus!
Here’s the short tour. Enjoy.
Walking out of Bally’s casino level boardwalk exit/entrance, it’s a short walk across the boards, past the bikini bar signs to the ramps that lead to the Bally’s Bikini Beach Bar, the venue by the beach where Taylor will perform at 1 pm on Friday and Saturday.
Bally’s Bikini Bar is nestled between the boardwalk, the dunes and the beach. There is a short series of ramps and then a short flight of stairs leading down to the entrance. It is a large space and is complemented by umbrellaed tables for two to four people placed along the side railings. At both ends of the long bar are larger tables, also with umbrellas. At the far end of the bar (under the #HOWIDOAC sign) is a covered stage with an open space in front. A performer was playing while we were visiting and there we saw dancing women off to the side which means it does not matter what time of night or day, this bar is going to be lots of fun!
The stage at the far end of the venue is large with a nice space in front of the tables for fans and dancers to assemble. The music was pumped through the PA system onto the boardwalk and sounded fantastic! We can’t wait until Taylor is there and the shore visitors get to hear his music!
If you are just visiting for the day or staying the weekend at Bally’s, parking is right next door at Bally’s Park Place and is $5 for the entire day. No tickets required for entrance as all ten shows are free.

Thank you! I think this outdoor beach bar is going to be a ton of fun. Hope Taylor and the band are going to enjoy this. See you there!

Thanks, azure. I was very happy to see how nice it is outside at the bikini bar. Part 2 will show the Blue Martini inside Bally’s just steps from the doors that lead to the boardwalk.

This is just one of the two venues but it looks like a lot of fun! The Blue Martini preview coming up next. Thanks for your comments.
Louise, For those of us who cannot be there, we thank you for the article and pictures. It helps to know the layout when we read everyone’s RECAPS. Sounds like it will be a blast. How far away do you live from the venue?
Thank you, Judy. It’s shaping up to be a great time over the course of the two weekends Taylor is here. I’m not far from AC but anyone who lives in south Jersey is not far from the shore! Can’t wait til the venue shots are filled with Taylor and the band.
Sounds like a lot of fun! I wish we lived closer to AC. Have a blast all of you who are going.
Thanks, Margaret. Wish you could make it. It looks to be an epic two weekends in AC!
