Connecticut Country Living with Taylor Hicks & the Jamie McLean Band
Blog and all photos/video by Louise Uznanski, Richard Uznanski and Holley Dey.
Twas the night before Ridgefield
And all through the land
All the creatures were buzzing
Taylor’s gone to Las Vegas land.
The band made its way to the stage for the show
Jamie brought Brian, and Ben was in tow
Then rock mixed with country on drums and on bass
We thought we’re in Graceland but no, not the case.
Jamie McLean Band warmed up the crowd to a pitch
Even played a new song called ‘Virginia’, nice and rich
With Brian on skins and Ben on the gold bass
The band played their set readying the crowd for the break.
And then Lil Memphis on keyboards did say
‘Ladies and gentlemen’ here’s the leader called Tay.
In black and silver, he struts on the stage
Ready to thrill with a show for the age.
Pocky Way and The Deal and yes, Gonna Move
And Country Livin’ got us all in the groove
He made a duet with Jamie and the band
Poor guy keeps breaking down at the 7 mile spot
But, Keep on Smilin’ got him right back on top.
So, we drive and we fly and we meet on the night
We stand in line to get a spot that’s just right.
Taylor and Jamie brought their rock to the stage
While visions of Vegas played in our head.
Til the next big show on the hot Vegas strip
Where Taylor turns the Indigo into his crib
If he does for Bally’s what he did for Broadway
There will be no stopping this man we call Tay.
Thanks to Jamie McLean Band members Jamie McLean, Brian Griffin and Ben Mars for their rousing great rock and roll tinged with country and soul at Ridgefield Playhouse.
And a special thanks to Taylor’s band Lillmbo, Brian Less and Jeff Lopez. Always great to see Lil Memphis and Spiritual Sax on stage.
The following is a video comprised of photos taken by Holley Dey, Louise Uznanski and Richard Uznanski set to the excellent audio of ‘Country Living’ recorded and graciously provided by Jonibug.
