Penguins and Cuttlefish
by Richard Uznanski
Penguins and Cuttlefish
Into the room often dim and dark,
Seldom beams of spectral bright.
Harmonies, melodies singing sweet,
Strings and reeds, percussions beat.
Fleeting captures, don’t let them pass.
Mirror slapping and moments caught,
Contemplation. Penguins and cuttlefish.

It’s a good thing I was alone in the house watching this one — if anyone had seen the clapping, the oohs and ahhhs, the laughter (cowbell picture), and just the out-and-out grins…..well I might be on my way to the funny farm now. This is just fabulous….your pictures are stunning, the soundtrack is a perfect fit (Avetts!!). Thank you so much for doing this labor of love and sharing it with us. Your work and your passion for it shines through and through!
I really enjoyed this, the photographs are nice, really nice (especially oh, say around 9:42 to the end), kudos to the photographer(s) and whoever put this together – nice work! Oh – really enjoyed all the music as well. Thanks!
Nice photos..I Was looking for the Guitar Guy from the Band at Padre Pio, couldn’t find him, maybe he will make the next cut! Great photos and well put together!!
Ah, you are as talented and creative as the amazing musicians you captured (I’d say on film, but guess I’d better switch that to “a memory card”!)! Great job….
Simply Fabulous!! Thank you for all the work you do and for being so generous to share with us!
A big Thank You for your wonderful comments.
As LindaT put it, it is a ‘labor of love’, the music, the photography, and the final assemblage into the video. I hope everything settled down and there is no need for a funny farm.
hicksfan7: I made an assumption early on that the sequence with Taylor would be quite popular.
AB: I took two looks at the Guitar Guy, but decided against it. I just wasn’t sure if I was overstepping my bounds on that. Next time for sure.
jonibug: No film is right, unless one is a purist. Memory cards are the way to go for me. $$ Hope you enjoyed viewing as I enjoyed making. Thank you.
Tammy K: Thank you. It was a pleasure.
ontapblog – your ‘assumptions’ were correct and those are some of the BEST photos I have seen of Mr. Hicks.
That was so worth the viewing. Nicely Done!
Great great stuff! Love the care with which each photograph was prepared. Interesting color added with blue bag. Lighting was so crucial to these captures. Totally enjoyed the inclusion of Josh Smith in your musical choices. That guy is quite a talent. Of course, I must gush about the Taylor pictures. What a joy to see the many faces of Taylor Hicks! Thank you, thank you!
Your the best Mac!!!Junebug
